It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad. - CS Lewis

Helen has been actively involved in churches all her life and has been a member of her current fellowship since 1991. A former churchwarden and member of the church council, Helen has extensive experience of lay leadership. She believes that her enthusiasm for development springs from a desire to give the best possible and for people to experience life in all its fullness.

Helen has worked with a number of different groups in Christian contexts including churchwardens from two different archdeaconries, curates, incumbents, with church councils, interns, staff teams, church members, teenagers and with team leaders at the New Wine summer conference. She brings her experience and knowledge of development and puts it in the context of the challenges facing church members and leaders.

From autumn 2013, Helen is co-ordinating a year-long experiential programme for a group of young leaders based at The Belfrey in York. If you’d like more information about this, check out the church site.
